Repurposing A Mexican Restaurant

This comedic story involves a band of sneaky bandits who are hiding out at Paco’s Cantina following a robbery. A local Federal sends guests on a wild chase to recover the stolen gold and catch the scoundrels involved.

Family Kingdom came to Sally Dark Rides with the goal to transform their former Mexican restaurant into an anchor attraction. They were looking for something completely new to add to their park that their family demographic would enjoy for seasons to come; an interactive dark ride checked all those boxes.

It was important to our client that this interactive attraction have state-of-the-art gaming. At the time, this technology was not readily available nor was it capable of integrating with a ride system. It was a major achievement for Sally to develop this interactive targeting system and find a suitable ride system that could integrate an in-car scoring console. The scoring console gives rider’s the ability to see their score in real-time which amplified the gamification and in-car competition.

Features like animatronic characters, innovative gaming system, reactive targets and animated props, made this an award-winning attraction for Family Kingdom and has been a hit for kids and parents alike.

Quick Draw earned the award for IAAPA’s Best New Product (Major Rides and Attractions) and was honored the following year in the Family Entertainment Center category.
