Dave Jones is a Senior Programming Director at Sally Dark Rides. Dave’s job entails assembling electronic control systems, digital sounds or soundtracks, and programming some of our colorful characters. Dave has been with Sally for over 40 years and has been instrumental in many of our iconic projects.

What does a typical day at work look like for you? Grab a cup of coffee and start juggling. Building and wiring control systems, documentation for controllers, programming shows and characters, and going on installations. Also our department works with Customer Service here at the shop and on the road.

How long have you worked at Sally? Since September 19th, 1980  …a long time ago…

What is your favorite project that you’ve worked on? No favorite, they have all been fun, enjoyable and sometimes enlightening!

What is something you can’t work without? Teammates! All are so knowledgeable, helpful and courteous.
‍

What is your favorite dark ride?  Sally Dark Ride, #1 Sesame Street, it bumped out JL, Tut, and Mine of Lost Souls.

What is your favorite park and why? Rocky Mt Natl Park, then Nikko Natl.    …theme park…Magic Kingdom, kid memories.

What kind of hobbies do you have outside of work? Hike, Bike, Golf, Disc Golf, and Scouting

Do you have any hidden talents? No, or do I . . .
‍

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had? Sally. I think I work with weird, which is normal.

Which TV character are you most like and why? A blend of Fred Flintstone, Santa and Shrek. Just a feeling.

What would be the title of your autobiography? Ask my Family
